We Will Be Blessed

This song is sort of self-explanatory...I have written this to reflect what I believe any 2 people who have allowed God to join them together will be experiencing on their wedding day - God’s BEST in God’s TIMING - as well as what they will experience in the future if God remains the focus and the glue for the relationship. Our world is full of broken and failed marriage relationships - that was certainly not God’s original design nor does it have to be!

“We Will Be Blessed” was originally a gift to some friends. I have been asked repeatedly to make it available to the public for use - so I’ve created an instrumental track and lead sheet.

All He Has To Do

You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The LORD is righteous in all His ways,
Gracious in all His works.

The LORD is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth. Psalm 145:16-18

I Am Here

In 2007 my mom was diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis was serious and required immediate treatment. She is currently still battling the cancer and making a lot of lifestyle changes in the process to support her heath. She has shared with me some of her experiences as well as her source of strength through unpredictable and scary times. I Am Here reflects the application of a certain verse in the Bible, which helped her to cope with any related anxieties.

Philippians 4:6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (NIV)

Many times there are Bible verses that we hear over and over and yet, until we apply them and believe the truth being stated, we cannot benefit from it. There are commands stated here of:
1) What not to do
2) What to do instead
3) What God promises as a result

We get the promised result when we choose to apply His commands sincerely. God has gone on record as One who responds just as He promises to. This verse applies to anything that causes us anxiety.

Thanks for the song inspiration, mom!

Let Us Begin

God promises to give good things to those who ask Him (see below). Does He force them on us? Not according to Jesus’ words. Ask, Seek and Knock to get the desired result. Those verbs are in the present tense in Greek. That’s our responsibility. Let Us Begin reminds us to ask God for what is good, then see Him respond to His promise!

Matthew 7:7-11: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

Why spend time with God at the start of our day? King David seemed to have a quality relationship with God. Through his Psalm below we can see that He approached God at the start of His day. Looks like a good idea! Let Us Begin reminds us to spend quality time each day in God’s revealed Word - asking, seeking and knocking, then expect great things as He graciously responds!

Psalm 5 :1-3: Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up.

Well, if it’s any consolation, folks who walked the earth at the same time that Jesus did were a bit confused as to who He really was.

Mark 8:27-28: Now Jesus and His disciples went out to the towns of Caesarea Philippi; and on the road He asked His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say that I am?” So they answered, “John the Baptist; but some say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”

I have interest in uncovering what is authentic. What does Jesus say about Himself? There are literally hundreds of I AM statements recorded in Scripture by eyewitnesses to His testimonies. Just one of these claims might be considered powerful, but when you view them in totality, it’s astonishing and unique.

In the song
I AM, I decided just to let Jesus speak for Himself.

Finally, lest you question that He made all of these claims, I have given references under the lyrics for you to consider. (As always, I recommend that readers go back and place the text in its overall context, but many of these phrases can simply stand alone).
